This is the best of the bunch if you ignore everything it says on the subject of "Allah Aqbar" extreme Islamism, which Al Jazeera dismisses with predictable use of the utterly dishonest London Mayor Sadiq Khan term 'Islamophobia'. But personally, I find news from Al Jazeera in other areas of global politics and diplomacy pretty balanced and sensible. One just has to accept that Caliphate Islam is merely another 'bloc' whose more fundamentalist adherents want to run the planet. Where I live now, "InshAllah" ['God willing'] coupled with the arm-sign of "May you have peace in your heart" is more than enough to get genuine co-existence....but such tolerance is far from universal.
The word 'hegemony' derives from the ancient Greek term (8th BC – AD 6th) donating the politico-military dominance of the Hegemon City State over other city-states. This was just dandy when Hegamon could make its superiority stick, most of the rest of the planet's humans were still creeping around in loincloths, sailing ships were rudimentary, nuclear weapons didn't exist and Mach6 ICBMs had not proliferated across most Homo sapiens' megapowers.
But the reality beyond Superstate/bloc megalomania in 2025 is that no one member of that insane elite club is going to be able to establish hegemony....and if one or more of the BSDs try to establish even a diluted unipolar dominance, we're going to wind up with a planet rendered uninhabitable by varietal weather weaponisation, genocidal bioweapon jab-mandates or just bad old fashioned H-bombs.
Whatever you want to call it - rigid ideology, inflexible religious belief, denialist ambition or self-righteous expansionism - lockstep groupthink remains the cancer of our age.
