I repeat: our species is in existential crisis given the Homo sapiens Greed gene. But a genocidal outcome would be a tragedy, because we are so tantalisingly close to grasping the nature of our baffling but intelligently designed Universe.

Dragging a five-ton block of granite for ten miles was, once upon a time, seen as impossible. Then the Wheel got invented.
