Blaming Earthquakes on itsybitsy teeny-weeny yellow polka-dot bikinis
The blindingly obvious strategy to blame all long-term neoliberal failure on President Trump's tariff obsession is being venemously pumped out on CNN as I write. You would have to be devoid of all five primary senses not to spot this....and as a Brit, I'm ashamed to say that the BBC is following suit in its predictable lockstep poodle fashion.
This does not signal in any way my support for Trump's tariff policies. It is simply yet another attempt to make people aware of the diabolical irony of an entirely bankrupt economic model [blatantly launched to make greedy investment giants even more giga-rich and powerful than they were before] cynically united in a farcical attempt to lay all the blame for their abject failure on an egotistical President demonstrating early signs of dementia.
As a term, 'premeditated manslaughter of a simpleton' doesn't begin to cover it.
The obvious bankruptcy of every claim ever made for neoliberal economics - trickle-down wealth, the markets must decide, the share-owning democracy, the defeat of inflation, the social growth-power of low corporate taxes, all profit is ethical, emancipation of the poor via stakeholder capitalism, consumer tax savings as a result of a smaller State - led inexorably to the obscene rise in Sovereign debt that must now be fixed by the dubious means of digitalising currency values through the iniquitous central banking system.
That sovereign debt has been exacerbated massively by the sort of aggressive neocon diplomacy upon which neoliberal claptrap depends in order to remain credible in the eyes of the average citizen....and distract attention from the constant need to spend incontinently on wars in order to hide the cost of the infinite love of monied power among the Establishment four per cent. What Biden and his crime family did in the Ukraine is an exactly replay of what Shacht did to keep Hitler's Lebensraum megalomania looking like a good return on investment. War has never delivered on that, and it never will. Unipolar global hegemony is now clearly impossible for any power to achieve without conflict too horrific to contemplate being the outcome - see my recent Slogpost here for more on that.
The other factor that brought Adolf Hitler's control of Europe, North Africa and most of Russia by 1941 was the socio-cultural atmosphere he inherited - that is, one in which old certainties had been destroyed, and there were no values left upon which ordinary people could rely.
Surreal New Normalism alongside the technologically baffling, unpredictable dysfunction of our current age represent an almost perfect rhyme with the post Great War German crisis that he exploited.
In the 21st century, nothing and nobody is reliable any more. The word 'reliable' may seem like a blinding glimpse of the obvious, but I'm using it in the sense of the French word 'sur', sometimes spelt out as 'serieux/serieuse'. Nothing works properly today: government departments steal from us, media Party-liners lie to us, elected assemblies have lost out to Giga-Billion Investment houses, electronic hardware malfunctions incessantly and breaks down the day after the 1-year guarantee runs out, television whether via dish or digital suffers from jargon-strangled counter-intuitive software, and mobile phones may seem like fun to the airheads in our species, but they are in reality agents of State surveillance, fear creation and control.
Not only do I sense that Hitler2 is on the way, he may already be here - reincarnated as Elon Musk. His scarcely veiled promise is the same as Hitler1: "Everything you value is being raped and vilified, but my Fuhrerprinzip and dedication to The People will banish all this forever". National Socialism reborn indeed - with possible Lebensborn in action too. Note Musk's odd impregnation campaign: seven brides for seven brothers was a fun musical, but thirteen kids by nine women in just ten years could almost be seen as breeding your own Stormtroopers.
Observe also his desire to be seen as a saviour of free speech and thought, while at the same time censoring all critiques of his totalitarian vandalism...and rewarding 'free' speech to those who pay for it.
Encouragingly, the intolerant tone of the LGBT Woke agenda obviously irritates the conservative majority (it's why the Democrats are unelectable at the moment) and I freely admit that it's odd mixture of fantasy and depraved misperception gets on my own ageing nerves too. There are only two genders, blokes don't menstruate, kids aged twelve are not mature enough to take transgender decisions, nowhere near all white people are racists and yes, some of the antics of Gay Pride Day marchers do make one wonder why anyone wants to be defined primarily by their sexuality...it all looks, at times, like incontinent exhibitionism.
But here's the rub.....
On the one hand, Donald Trump is not the author of 'Greed is Good' piffle; and on the other, his New Best Friend Elon Schickelgruber will not find the answer to Congressional corruption by neutering elected officials via unconstitutional hacking. It's still "two wrongs don't make a right" in a way - in the sense that White House tactics are simplistic and dubious, but the motives of those wanting rid of this Administration are, to say the least of it, perfidious. Two wrongs here add up to a big fat zero that is magnifying the terrifying division in American society.
Can you imagine the dangers of a world in which a USA at war with itself, a threatened Russian Federation with an inferiority complex, a bankrupt but expansive European Union, an aggressive but underfunded NATO, an imperial [but increasingly under pressure from the material expections of its citizens] PRC, an Islam short of a Reformation, an incurably corrupt sub-Saharan Africa, a bunch of Bourse Dimon banker sociopaths, a diabolical alliance of genocidal Pharma corporates and multivariate Deep State weather-weaponisers are all vying for Unipolar dominance?
Neither can I....although at times, it all feels like inevitable self-destruction.
Or rather, I can envisage many dimensions of that Horror Show....but in order to get a good night's sleep, I need to meditate upon the nature of Being in the Eternal Now, and pray that extra-terrestrials with a higher order of intelligence might one day soon rescue us from our species desire to become Gods in a Godless world.
Supporting the Slog's fears in the context of immediate news....
Former Dutch PM Mark Rutte - not content with NATO pushing the EU further into the Ukrainian morass on the wrong side - is at the moment in Japan stressing the need for collective security in that region....this being a euphemism for containment of Beijing expansionism.
In other words, Rutte now sees his remit as superceding the former SEATO that was dissolved in 1977. Or in other word still, NATO's global role [let's face it, the North Atlantic is not exactly adjacent to south east Asia] now leads even more obviously all the way back to US diplomacy and the Secret State via the neocon aims of The Pentagon.
Confirmation, in fact, of the continuing - but utterly delusional - Washington belief in American unipolar hegemony.
Meanwhile, Chinese leader Xi Ping continues to up the ante by publishing graphic details of invasion exercises in relation to both Taiwan and the Philippines.
And let's not forget the yawning gap between what (a) the NATO/Pentagon axis wants to do in helping Vlodamore Zelenskyy to be in a pain in the Russian Federation arse, and (b) the obvious hatred of Zelenskyy shared by both Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump .
We are dicing with planetary death via inflexible division here.

Why should I give a blue blithering monkey's chuff about the exact mathematical nature of the "error" in this further case of load-failure being advanced as the reason for casual censorship? Does it signify the one hundred and fourth failure out of one hundred and fifty three attempts to avoid SNAFU....or is it a binary expression of the Slog's infamous six-symbol abbreviation IABATO - It's All Bollocks And That's Official?

Editor's postscript: God is not a human being. The dominant [and bloody stupid at times] mammalian species Homo sapiens took control after a massive meteor hit the Earth 66 million years ago and wiped out all but the smallest dinorsaur reptiles....the tiniest of whom then adapted by growing wings and becoming what we call avian creatures, aka birds.
Chances are that alien life out there will be wing-aided investigative geckos.
Divine intelligence is a life-force, not a species. God is in everything because God is not a Lifeform subject, it is an ever-present noun one might best call Godliness.
My conclusion is based on decades of observation and a Soul Full of Hope. It might be false witness from a lady who has a Holeful of Soap....but I doubt it.
