AI, ia, good men doing nothing, the ongoing disappearance of Truth and Service: a pot pourri of dystopia
This is something I wrote yesterday to a former Adland colleague in the UK:
'While I regard your analysis of Donald Slump as somewhat slavishly New York Times/DNC in nature - he is not a convicted felon, sex-pest or pervert on any planet beyond the Blair-Kamala New Normal moon of Uranus - I do accept that his policies and picks are confusing, that they merely demonstrate he himself is profoundly confused, and that Elon Musk is a constitutional vandal with a female impregnation habit suggesting he might have a Lebensborn Complex. The point is, my dear old chum, that whatever they do will be what we seasoned political scientists call fucking irrelevant in the light of what the currency digitalisers, genocidal Pharma bioweaponists, Chinese mach9 missile developers, Net Zero clowns, Weather weaponisers and Islamic Caliphate nutters have in store for us.
If you add to these six tendencies the words Putin-Russian, EUNATO, ECOWAS West African and Mercosur to the list, then you will see that the World is (to use a mid 20th century term) 'one over the eight'...c'est a dire, drunk. Problem is mate, they all think that Unipolar global hegemony is going to be the answer.'
I do sincerely wish that privileged left-leaning thinkers would wake TF up.
This is obviously insanity...it can't possibly succeed, but the bastards are going to take most of us with them.....unless we take more positive action.
There is more to the letters 'a' and 'I' than Artificial Intelligence
You can register a complaint....or you can be compliant - as in silent.
The only difference therein is the the order of 'a' and 'i'. But those two letters of the 26-symbol Western alphabet symbols hold the key to whether Homo sapiens will drift lazily into acceptance of transhuman ideology, or reject mindless obedience in favour of open-minded liberty.
Some news items to illustrate the point...
The World Economic Forum's fuhrer Klaus Schwab resigned in a letter to trustee board members two days ago....opining that the forum—known for its annual meetings in Davos, Switzerland—must regain its “sense of mission” following a period of turmoil.
Very probably, Schwab believed in his 'stakeholder capitalism' dream. Those who used him as a Useful Idiot have now dismissed him as the means to an end. Be in no doubt: that end is fascist State monopolism using the 1930s model outlined by Benito Mussolini.
Tamara Lich and Chris Barber are declared to have been found GUILTY of mischief for their role in the 2022 Freedom Convoy protest in Ottawa. It's another black day for the preservation of Canadian freedom to protest.
Bullying citizens in the name of zero-emisions in Holland. Almost a third of Dutch shrimp fishermen have now applied for the government to buy out their boats, as since 2022, the Dutch government has declared shrimp fishermen “illegal” after using a nitrogen-calculation model called AERIUS to decree that their nitrogen emissions need to be reduced to zero. Now the government is insisting that the boats’ owners invest in a catalytic converter—a € 100,000 investment.
The American Civil Liberties Union to sue Louisiana over Ten commandments mandate. The law suit will challenge the legality of new Louisiana legislation making it mandatory to display the Ten Commandments in every public school classroom. While I am all for States' rights (and suspect that this is the lower IQ end of MAGA at work again) the ACLU contends that the mandate is unconstitutional, and for once I agree with them. Freedom of thought is at the very core of liberty: I for one do not accept the divinity of the Ten Commandments - any more than I accept that Allah or the Prophet Mohammed wrote every word of the Koran or Christ's disciples wrote all the books of the New Testament. Closed minds produce closed ranks. If freedom of thought is discouraged, totalitarian dystopia will surely follow.
World's most shit banks, Episode 562.
More don't-give-AF service from Standard Chartered, the bank whose ATMs are always empty or malfunctioning. For years, Substandard Farters employed the corporate strapline, 'By your side here Forever', but then in 2022 they changed their minds on that one, moving their corporate HQ to Nigeria and selling all their Gambian outlets to Access Bank.
Now that the takeover deal has completed - the bank that was in 2012 declared a "rogue institution" by New York's top banking regulator for handling at least $250 billion in transactions with Iranian entities in violation of US sanctions - has now abruptly stopped filling or servicing any of its ATM hardware...leaving irate guests at the prestigious Cocoa Ocean Hotel (a favourite haunt of Charles III) with a half-mile walk to the nearest cash machine....this is a nightmare given that The Gambia is a 98.4% cash economy: almost no shops or restaurants accept debit cards as payment.
Bankers don't give service to their retail customers any more, they service them in the sexual sense of ramming the corporate BSD genitals up the ass of the clientele.
So let's continue on this theme with my own UK Bank, Nationwide. I'm an online banking customer with the Nation Wideboys, and have been since God was a girl - more precisely, for just under thirty years.
I've been contacting them now for two months on the subject of getting my debit card safely delivered to my main residence here on Gambia's Smiley Coast when it expires later this year. The bank promises to reply to any such query within seven days. We're now fifty-nine days into the mission, and I've had not so much as a peep from them.
So now I am going to have to send a registered complaint to the Head Office Complaints team in writing because despite there being would you believe 72 pages of ways to contact NW, there is but one way to make a complaint, and that's by written registered mail.
In 2025, right? This is what I mean by banks providing useless AI Bot contact to fob you off and get you to comply on the one hand, but Victorian postal methods to complain on the other.
Nice work if you can get it, huh?
And before you write me off as Moaner of the Century, these are the latest customer ratings data for Nationwide:
Hmmm. Could do better, methinks. But here's the rub, readers: do you think any of the other Banksters would be any better?
No, neither do I.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
