A hifi recording of wifi history.
The small change in my location went smoothly in 95% of all departments, and I am delighted with my new home. The 5% disaster involved [insert predictble drumroll here] AI, technology, digital TV media and a war between the two local supplier giants....with the consumer caught in the crossfire.
But every cock-up is a learning curve, and so The Slog's gradual desertion of the digital internet not only continues - it has been fully justified by unfolding (some might say unravelling) events.
Each day, life in my life gets a little more straightforward....and less stressful.
My sole remaining TV digi-channel will be YouTube (some of the film noir movies are still worth a re-run). Everything else I'm going to get via a dish >> cable >> reception box news and movies package. The process of getting anything of quality without silly subscription levels "online" hoho was both dizzying and baffling at the same time. It is also pointless because most of it I can get free on my laptop.
In the early 1980s (having sold an ad agency to a US multinational) I spent a lot of time in Boston renting small apartments and getting UK news supplied by cable and satellite. The reception packages were never less that 30+ channels and all of them were digi-internet free....because the Web was just a Devil's foetus at the time....and nowhere near it's full term.
TV rental guy would pitch up with a channel-changer and a box, plug in the telly, take me through a briefing - five minutes at most - and then disappear with some greenbacks in his back pocket. That was it.
We really do not need the digital internet: it is a privacy>liberty>service>reality destroying confection of stealthy info-gathering that is fat too closely allied to (and financed by) a deadly combo of the Secret State and the bourse-investment-to-central-banking complex.
The next stage - making it impossible to buy anything without using a mobile android device using digitally devalued money - will be both a nightmare and a freedom killer without equal in history if it's allowed to happen. For if it does come to pass, the New World Order pharma-genocidal maniacs will be the victors. And unfortunately, history is written by the victors.
If we get our act together (and make Resistance solidarity far easier for all) then we will write history. And that history will wonder how on Earth the species homo sapiens ever allowed itself to fall - over and over again - for the machine-sprayed BS central formerly known as the World Wide Web.
Everything else is pure distraction. Mind you, there's no shortage of it....and the major players on the world stage are, mostly, exacerbating the problem.
The US is now bombing the Houthi [and yes, the Houthi aren't the world's nicest people], and Trump says the JFK assassination files will be released tomorrow [Wednesday 19th].
In addition, Jessica Rose will shock you on the exponential growth of AI influence, Robert Malone can scare you with the illegalities of the Secret US State 'swatter' bureaucrats.
On my side of the Pond, Thames Water data shows that raw sewage discharges in rivers rose in 2024 [300,000 hours of raw effluent pouring into waterways - a rise of nearly 33% from 196,000 in 2023] and German Chancellor-to-be Friedrich Merz will probably get the two-thirds Bundestag majority he needs to release a €500bn infrastructure fund and relax debt rules in the Bundesrepublik. His Conservatives, the Social Democrats and the Greens will back the move....which he argues is necessary to boost the country’s military spending and inject growth into its ailing economy.
Oh dear: military money to be spent in order to drive growth and disguise slump....sounds familiar.
The last person to try this approach was unser geliebte Dolfi Hitler in 1935, with some help from Treasury banker Hjalmar Schacht. What on Earth could go wrong ninety years later? Also - while I am not a Green - the idea of such a party backing more money for War fills me with revulsion yet again for the average politician's capacity to sell out every last ethic left in our collapsing cultural range.
As somebody once said, "History doesn't repeat....but it does rhyme.
